Copy from a past study

Modified on Tue, 21 Nov, 2023 at 11:40 AM

The ability to copy from a past study can be very useful when you want to run a similar study as the previous one. Instead of creating the study from scratch again, you can duplicate the previous study and make any necessary changes based on that version.

To do this,

  • Search and find the previous study on the Project Directory page,
  • Click More on the project card
  • Choose Duplicate Project
  • Specify the new Project Name in the popup module

Please note everything in the previous study will be copied over in the new study except for the following things -

  • Any custom setup or logic that is NOT created directly from the platform will not be copied over. For example, in a previous study, a user wanted to include some complicated logic based on a typing tool, which was beyond the scope of logical features offered by inca platform. So they contacted inca's tech team to add the logic by custom programming. Later on, if they want to re-run a similar study and they duplicate the previous study on the platform, the custom logic won't be copied over. They would need to contact inca's tech team again to add the custom logic.
  • If the previous study used INCA PANEL, the Built-in Targeting Variables added in the study won't be copied over.
  • If the previous study used SELF PROVIDED panel, the panels and the redirects added in the study won't be copied over.
